Boot Pond is a pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts within the Eel River watershed. The pond is located west of South Pond village, northwest of Gunners Exchange Pond and Hoyts Pond, and north of Myles Standish State Forest. The pond is a secondary municipal water supply for the Town of Plymouth. This is not a public pond. Every home along the shore line is private property, and the other side is protected. The "heel" of the boot is a popular parking area for trespassers, even though the owner of that property has posted signs and tried to block off that area (trespassers ripped the signs out of the ground and towed the huge logs out of their way). But, since trespassing, littering and vandalism crimes are apparently ignored by the Plymouth Police Department, people feel justified in doing all three to this poor woman's property. A new sign had been put up: Park at your own risk. Owner is not responsible for any theft or damage to personal property. You guys stole that sign, too, but it still applies. I say park there all you want. Nothing wrong with a little target practice.
